Social Media

Social media has drastically impacted marketing and advertising in recent years. Social media influencers are up and coming and are the ideal source of marketing for businesses who aim to target social media users, impacting their buying decisions. Advertising a product through social media influencing creates an effective approach to reaching a large audience. With their platform, they can promote products to thousands of people who trust them as endorsers. This can be done with real time updates through pictures, videos, blog posts, tweets, and more.  Why do influencers have such an impact on the products we buy, and why do

What started as a simple text-like message has evolved into an online canvas for individual expression. Earlier this year, Twitter added the ability to poll a community and view Periscope broadcasts right in a Tweet (without the app), as well as search out GIFs for creative posting. The newest updates allow you to do even more. According to Twitter, the changes “simplify Tweets including what counts toward your 140 characters,” freeing up the limited space to be as crafty as you choose. Here are the key changes that will make the most of your messaging: •  Replies – @names will no longer be

At May’s Google Performance Summit, a number of long-awaited changes were announced for Google’s biggest cash cow of the last 15 years: AdWords. The primary announcement was the shift of the AdWords platform from a simply “mobile-friendly” interface to a “mobile-first” focus. In his Ads & Analytics Innovations keynote, Sridhar Ramaswamy, SVP of ads and commerce, said the “shift to mobile is no longer something that will happen . . . The shift’s happened.” As consumers begin to seamlessly move between online and offline experiences, it’s important for marketers to bridge the digital and physical worlds. Noted below are a few of

Is your website ready for Google’s mobile-friendly algorithm update? Google is about to unleash yet another algorithm update, and this time it could have a direct impact on your business—in a very real, dramatic fashion. Step back to Google’s initial rollout of the Penguin algorithm update: The overall number of global searches it affected was nil, relatively speaking (roughly 4%). That number increased slightly to 12% with the implementation of the Panda update. With the latest iteration, that number will be bigger than Penguin or Panda, according to Google’s Webmaster Trends Analyst Zineb Ait Bahajji. So what’s the lowdown on the new algorithm

It may have taken them a bit longer than most had expected, but it appears as though Google is ready to dive into the social media sphere. The company launched the +1 feature in search results in March, which parallels Facebook’s “like” as a way of denoting social recommendations in a Google search. The +1 button does carry a few more interesting features however, including the notion that pages that you +1 will show up in the Google search results of people within your Google network. Organic search results are essentially replaced with the recommendations of your peers, which is

Our magnetic little friend is well on his way to becoming a true gearhead. After making an appearance at the 2011 North American International Auto Show in Detroit a few weeks ago, MagnaMan was spotted taking in the sights and sounds at today's Chicago Auto Show media preview. This year's event was packed with exciting news from several automakers, including the unveiling of the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, Dodge Charger SRT8 and Volkswagen Jetta GLI. Stay tuned to find out where MagnaMan's travels will take him next!

We’re happy to announce that our “You Click, We Give!” donation campaign was a success, smashing through the 1,000-click goal before Christmas Day—over one month ahead of its scheduled end date. Thanks to your interaction, over 8,000 meals have been supplied through Forgotten Harvest to those in need this winter. The response to our campaign has been overwhelmingly positive, with responses ranging from simple, yet gracious “thank yous” to other warm, heartfelt sentiments. As stated in a previous post, one of our goals for 2011 is to “stay connected” and engaged with our community, clients and peers. We’re more than

Now that the 2011 North American International Auto Show is officially in the books, the anticipation has begun for many of the hot, new automobiles to hit showroom floors. This was the second straight year that NAIAS experienced a bump in attendance, which included the breaking of a single-day record from 1993 of 74,900 for a Friday, with 75,327 attending this year. Some people go to the show to browse for potential new vehicles, while others might be on hand to check out the sleek, new concept cars or the latest technological innovations. Presumably, however, everybody walks away from the

LinkedIn has become an increasingly popular business hub, with over 65 million users connected together to engage in a free-flow of business ideas, information and potential business ventures and to (re)discover contacts. The network allows users to link up with others within three degrees of separation. As such, it affords the user the chance to control what information of theirs is visible to those who are not a part of their network. Seemingly in an under-the-radar fashion (perhaps thanks to social media behemoth Facebook's recent OpenGL API launch and new "like" buttons), LinkedIn
